Recognizing the need of the hour and
fulfilling the dream of its Founder, Dr. K.B. Grant,
Ruby Hall Clinic had set up an exclusive seven storied
Cancer Centre dedicated to superlative cancer care and
treatment to patients. The centre has 70,000 sq. ft.
built up area and is set up with the total investment
of Rs. 45 crores. The centre is a "Comprehensive
Cancer Care" provider in a true sense, as it has
integrated all the treatment facilities available for
cancer under one roof.
The facility includes Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology,
Surgical Oncology, Research Centre, Ultramodern Laboratory
and Diagnostic facilities along with support services
like Medical Social Works Department, Conference Hall,
Pharmacy and Coffee Shop.
The Radiation Therapy unit provides Image Guided Radiotherapy
(IGRT), and prides itself in being first centre in India
to do so. The IGRT goes beyond the traditional method.
Its 3-D imaging focuses on just those cells affected
by cancer, rather than all the cells in the area, &
thus protecting the healthy cells. The centre also offers
Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy IMRT. Both these scientifically
advanced therapies help doctors in administering the
treatment with precision and perfection. The unit offers
expertise in Stereotactic Radio Surgery (SRS) and Therapy
(SRT) that involves the treatment of brain tumours without
surgery.
The Medical Therapy unit centre lays special emphasis
on its day care & domiciliary treatment, which involves
minimum hospitalization. The centre has 36-bed Day Care
Centre, designed to provide maximum comfort to patients
The Surgical Therapy unit is well equipped with 6 operation
theatres made up of stainless steel walls with international
quality lightning and monitoring system with an endoscopy
suite. Recovery room and a day care centre supports
the unit.
The Cancer Centre has introduced distinctive modules
like the Specialty OPDs and Mobile Screening units.
The specialty OPD (Joint Clinic) is a cohesive network
of experts from various disciplines to help and guide
patients under one roof. The mobile screening units
are planned to reach the rural areas on Maharashtra.
This initiative was taken to help spread awareness regarding
Cancer and facilitate early diagnosis in these regions.
The centre is academically active, and conducts "Cancer
Management"-Basics in Cancer Patient Care Course
for primary care physicians to enable them manage cancer
patients in their daily practice.
The centre also prides itself with many international
alliances for executing clinical researches on Cancer.
Ruby Hall Clinic has entered into a unique 10 year collaboration
with "Siemens" for all technological and product
developments being done. This agreement has brought
about the installation of the only Linear Accelerator
with Image guided Radiotherapy at the Cancer Centre.
This agreement identifies Ruby Hall Clinic as a "Siemens
beta site" and is the fifth site in the world,
and Asia's only beta site. This beta site will help
experts remain perpetually abreast of the latest developments
in medical equipment.
Apart from the prescribed treatment, most cancer patients
need moral support. Keeping this in mind the Cancer
Centre has a full fledged Medical Social Works Department
that offers cancer patients support of every kind, from
counseling to rehabilitation.
