MEDICAL SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT

The Medical Social Work (MSW) Department works closely with Ruby Hall Clinic’s team of health care professionals to ensure high quality care for patients and their families.

Medical Social workers provide a unique and integral part of patient care by attending to social, environmental, financial and emotional needs of the patients and families across the spectrum of care offered by the various programs and services at Ruby Hall Clinic.

Referrals for Medical Social Workers are received from doctors, nurses, other health care team members, patients and/or their relatives, community agencies or other persons having a direct interest in the patient.
At Ruby Hall Clinic, Medical social work services are available to patients and families throughout all phases of patient’s treatment including preventive, diagnostic, and rehabilitation.
Facing the diagnosis of cancer itself is traumatizing for a patient & their family most of the patients are in denial. Thus apart from the treatment for cancer most of the patient need moral support & financial help keeping this in mind, the cancer center has incorporate medial social work department in their team.    
This department dedicated to offer cancer patients of all kinds, services from counseling to rehabilitation. 
            

MSW department also organizes activities for patients & their families like:-   
·Rose day celebration for the cancer patients.
·Children’s day & Christmas day celebration. 
·Breast cancer support group for the patients & relatives.
·Awareness programs for anybody who seeks to know more about cancer.  
·Stoma patient get together.
·Cancer screening camp.
·Awareness sessions in other organizations & social agencies.
