There are four well-equipped cardiac theatres for cardiac surgery. The ultra modern operation theatres are equipped with the latest monitoring equipment, blood gas analyzers, heart-lung machines, ventilators etc. A 19 bedded recovery room complex is adjacent to the theatre. On an average 60 - 70 cardiac surgeries are done in a month. Surgeries on congenital heart diseases include CABGs, MICAS and valve replacements.

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (C.A.B.G.) 

Ruby Hall Clinic is fully equipped to carry out all cardiac surgical procedures, such as valve replacements, repair of diseased rheumatic and congenital valves. The doctors of the hospital have a vast experience in the use of valves and bioprosthetic valves with over 5,000 replacements to its credit. More than 20,000 CABG procedures have been performed at the hospital in the past 10 years. Since 1991 use of IMA and arterial conduits have become common in CABG operations in Ruby Hall Clinic. 

Angiography 

Coronary Angiography is considered to be the gold standard for evaluation of coronary artery disease and gives a perfect idea of the nature and extent of coronary disease and blocks.

Ruby Hall Clinic houses the most modern Philips Integris HM 2000 systems.Two cath labs are fully functional. Around 500 procedures are performed every month. There are an average of 20 daily admissions for Angiography and more than 25 cardiologists use the facilities of this unit where Acute Myocardial Infarction is treated. This unit is manned by highly skilled and qualified cardiologists round the clock. More than 35,000 Angiographies have been done so far in the Clinic.

Coronary Balloon Angioplasty & Stent Implantation 

Coronary Angioplasty acts in lieu of bypass surgery in select group of patients. Angioplasty was started in Ruby Hall Clinic about 15 years ago with an average of four procedures performed daily. Stents are being used since October 1994. 

The department is also geared for arrhythmia studies, electro physiological studies and RF ablation for cardiac arrhythmias. The department also does balloon valvuloplasties for rheumatic mitral stenosis, congenital pulmonary and aortic stenosis. 

The center also has facilities for rotablator angioplasty (diamond burr), temporary and permanent pacemaker implantations.

Cardiac Surgery

The Cardiothoracic Department is a full-fledged unit manned by 4 full-time Cardiothoracic surgeons. Over 3000 open heart procedures have been carried out and the department also performs minimally invasive coronary bypass surgery.
