Histopathology
Department is a tertiary referral centre for Oncopathology with Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence microscopy & Cytogenetics.

Facilities available in the department are as follows :
Histopathology :
All biopsies & surgical pathology specimens
Cytology :
- Gynaec exfoliative cytology- PAP smear evaluation
- Body fluid examination with cytocentrifuge
- Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) procedure & reporting done in the department.
- Intra-operative frozen Section consultation & stereo tactic Brain biopsy.
Immunohistochemistry :
About 70 tumor markers on tissue paraffin blocks are available in the department. These markers help in the diagnosis, classification & prognosis of various cancers.
Immunofluorescence Microscopy :
For evaluation of kidney & skin biopsies. The C4d immune marker for evaluation of renal transplant antibody mediated rejection is available.
Cytogenetics :
Fluorescent In Situ Hybridisation ( FISH) for Her2/neu & BCR-ABL genes available.
