The Department of Ophthalmology is fully equipped with modern equipments to treat various eye diseases. The department is upgraded regularly to keep in touch with all recent advances in the subject.
Various types of squint cabx can be diagnosed and treated successfully. The Automated perimeter available in the department can detect glaucomatous field changes at a very early stage.
Various types of squint cab be diagnosed and treated effectively. The synaptophore is used for squint treatment - both pre-operative and post-operatively.
Corneal diseases can be diagnosed and treated with support of sophisticated laboratory facilities. The Eye bank of the hospital supplies donor eyes for corneal transplants which are being done regularly.
Cataract surgery and lens implants are being done regularly, both with phacoemulsification and without it. Sutureless surgeries are done regularly and the patient's post-operative morbidity is minimal. Vitreo-retinal diseases are treated regularly by the hospital's vitreo-retinal surgeon. Various types of orbital diseases and ocular trauma are treated successfully.The department recently added an optometry and contact lens clinic, which will provide the long felt needs of dispensing glasses and contact lenses to patients in need of them.
