Dr. Ramanan is the Director, Clinical Haematology, Bone Marrow, and Stem Cell Transplant.
He has helped over 3000 patients with thalassaemia, leukaemia, myeloma, aplastic anaemia, bleeding, and clotting disorders who have taken treatment under his guidance. The department handles the highest number of paediatric leukaemias and paediatric thrombophilias in Western India. The benefit of novel therapies in thalassaemia and leukaemia discovered by Dr. Vijay Ramanan has been provided to the needy through the MVR Foundation (w.mvrfoundation.org). Dr. Vijay Ramanan has many international presentations, papers, and chapters in his textbook
He is a member of the American Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, European Association of Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant, International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and ISTHM—Indian Society.
